Damon Chetson
Damon Chetson is a Raleigh Bankruptcy lawyer and Raleigh consumer debt defense lawyer. He helps people who now face mountains of debt either by assisting them in the filing of bankruptcy petitions or by helping them defend against creditor lawsuits or abusive debt collection practices.
Mr. Chetson assists individuals and families filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Petitions with the Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of North Carolina (Raleigh). In addition, he defends people who have been sued by creditors or who have been harassed or abused by debt collection agencies or debt collectors.
Mr. Chetson litigates various claims brought under the North Carolina's Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act (UDAP) and the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In many cases, he takes promising FDCPA and UDAP cases on contingency fees, or merely for the filing costs.
In addition to his consumer debt and bankrupcty practice, Mr. Chetson is a criminal lawyer in Raleigh representing people charged with serious felonies and misdemeanors.
Before starting his legal practice, Mr. Chetson worked for 10 years in politics as a vice president of a leading public policy organization. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School, and received his undergraduate degree from the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA). He is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina.

Ms. Winter brings a caring and understanding approach when talking to clients about their concerns. She knows how much anxiety a bankruptcy can cause. Ms. Winter also plans the firm's growth and expansion. Ms. Winter received her Doctorate of Business Administration while working for Banner Health, a major health care network in the western United States. She subsequently worked for the technology company Intel, and for a major international consultancy.
